About Kevin Tsuyuki

I fell in love with physical fitness at a young age playing competitive tennis starting at the age of 9. All my life I had a conditioning coach who taught me the important of endurance, strength, agility and power in competitive sports and in life. I competed at a provincial and national level in tennis. I understood the importance of being in physical shape for competition but now being diagnosed with a neuromuscular autoimmune disorder I understand the importance of being in physical shape for life. After rehabbing for many years, it has changed my life and I want to do the same to others.

I believe fitness is one of the most important aspects of a long and healthy life. No matter age, demographic or goals, being in your best shape can drastically improve your quality of life. I have to monitor how I feel on a day to day basis and majority of the time I try to push myself past my limits. I believe we can do a lot more than our mind lets us. I do my best to try and push my clients to not only achieve their goals but surpass their goals.

I specialize in powerlifting, weight lifting, conditioning and fat loss. I not only have had the opportunity to coach others but also coach myself back into the shape I currently am in. Not only do I push my clients to get the results in the gym but also results outside of the gym as well.

What do you say to the person who’s afraid to begin exercising?
You don’t need a Monday to start to change your life. Start now. Change could be done even in the tiniest of steps e.g. walking for 20 mins, taking the stairs at work or eating an apple instead of chips. It’s never too early to begin to change your life.

Who do you look up to & why?
My father. He has been through everything with me through my life. Ups and downs in competitive tennis and months spent in the hospital. He is the reason I am the man that I am today and I am still learning from him.

If you were a superhero who would it be & why?
Storm from x-men. I always thought growing up as a kid it would be awesome to be able to change the weather. Just imagine. You’re on vacation and its raining and thundering… BOOM 30 degrees sunshine, vacation saved!

Your secret to success?
We all don’t know everything but we all know something. Learn and keep on learning. Not just from one person but from everyone because we all could learn from somebody.
